Murray State Closes Out Novice IPDA Finals at Tennessee State University
Zack Benz (Freshman, Wildlife Biology) and Caleb McCurren (Junior, Political Science) locked out the TOP TWO spots in IPDA debate at the Southern Forensics League hosted by Tennessee State University in October.
They won ELEVEN of the twelve judges’ ballots in their final 2 rounds. Zack was undefeated in prelims with a perfect 4-0 record. Caleb went 3-1. Both students won their quarter final rounds with a 3-0 decision from the judges. Zack won his semi final round with a 2-1 decision, while Caleb maintained a perfect 3-0 decision, which resulted in Murray State closing out the final round. Out of the 20 total ballots between the two competitors they won 18 of them!
