Showcasing Excellence

The SDU travels the country competing on behalf of Murray State University, collecting countless awards each year. We also host a number of campus event and showcases each semester.

Fall Semester

Each Fall the SDU hosts our annual Dean’s Debate Showcase in honor of the support given to us by the College of Business.

We also host the Racer Classic — a high school speech tournament

Spring Semester

Each Spring the SDU hosts our annual Provost’s Premiere Showcase in honor of the support given to us by the office of the Provost. In addition to spotlighting our nationally-ranked speech events, our exceptional alumni return to square off against our current debaters.

The first full weekend in February is home to our annual Jackson Purchase Swing Tournament -- a collegiate speech and debate tournament attended by schools from across the region
